How to create a Job Template

You can create a job template in the Orders / Main menu

Job templates are a “mirror image” of a job you do on a regular basis, they can contain customer specific data for collections, deliveries, pricing etc.

A job template can be used to create jobs on the system in a few seconds.

This is the fastest way to create a job, therefore its an essential skill for everyone to know.

Select the Order / Main menu and the screen below will load. Select the “plus” button, this is the “Create Job Template” button.

This will launch the “Job screen" and you can build the “Job” exactly as you would if you were selecting the “New Job” button on the Dispatch / Main menu.

However you do the folloing things differently:-

  1. Keep the Job Reference field blank, as you will not know this information, until you are using the template to create new jobs.
  2. If you use the "groupage" option" leave your pallet quantities to 1.
  3. You will be given the option to define the quantity when you need to use the template.
  4. When you are finished, please ensure that you have specified the Expected Dates and Times, as close to the customers requirement as possible.

This is a very important step, as this gives the job a duration. This duration is used when the tempate is used to create a job.

In Summary

  • Creating a “template” is identical to creating a job.
